The Bangkok Music Society has been honoured at a number of performances in the past by the presence of HRH Princess Galyani.  We have been grateful for her support and would like to dedicate this concert to her memory.

The major work on the programme is the Requiem in C minor by Luigi Cherubini, a Mass for the Dead from the Romantic Period of French Music.  Written in 1816 to commemorate the twenty-fourth anniversary of the execution of Louis XVI, the composition contains no soloists and so impressed Beethoven that he requested it to be performed at his funeral.

The programme also includes two pieces by resident composer Dan White and the cantata by Marc-Antoine Charpentier titled The Denial of St Peter

The BMS is proud to have support for this concert from Decor Mart Design Center, PTTEP, Bangkok Patana School, Shrewsbury International School and New International School of Thailand.

The concert will take place on Friday, 14 March 2008, at 8 PM in the sanctuary of Christ Church, located at the corner of Convent Road and Sathorn Nua.  It is a short 5-7 minute walk from the BTS Sala Daeng and MRT Silom Stations, or tuk-tuks or motorcycles can be utilized.
