Bangkok Music Society: Current Events 2007 - 2008 Season

For the 2007-8 Season, the BMS is directed by Michael Rassinger.  Born in Dachau, Germany, Michael received his first musical instructions on the accordion at the age of ten.  In 1989 he won second prize at the All-State Bavarian Youth Competition.  He received his Degrees in Church Music, Music Pedagogy and Organ, including the Master of Music, from the Academy of Music Nuremberg-Augsburg.  He has worked in Augsburg as organist and choirmaster for world-famous St Anne Church and Trinity Church, taught music at several high schools and served as a journalist for several newspapers and magazines.  He is the recipient of an Artistic Achievement Award from the city of Augsburg.  He has also performed widely in Germany, Austria, Italy and the United States.  He is presently head of music and ICT at the RIS Swiss School in Minburi, Bangkok.
