Activities - Musician Sponsorship and BMS Choir

The Bangkok Music Society supports the performance and appreciation of music in Thailand. One of our goals is to provide scholarships for young musicians. As part of the BMS commitment to raising the profile of young musicians in Thailand the BMS board offers an annual Scholarship to:

The award of season 2007 - 2008 went to an outstanding horn player from Mahidol University, Chaiyanan Wan-in, to help him to be able to participate as one of seven Thai young musicians in the Asian Youth Orchestra in Hong Kong.  He gave a great performance of the Mozart Horn Concerto No 1 on our October concert with Tony Newman at the piano.  Your support will enable us to continue our support of the young Thai musicians of our community.

The Bangkok Music Society Choir invites new and returning members to join us for the new season 2009 - 2010 featuring an exciting program of music with a repertoire ranging from classical to modern. The Current Events page provides all the relevant details.

We also arrange informal musical evenings to provide instrumentalists among our members with opportunities to perform in solo works, duets, quartets etc.

Recent concerts have included works and pieces by: Vivaldi - Gloria in excelsis deo, Tippett - selections from A Child of Our Time, Rachmaninov - 'Bogoroditsye Dyevo' from Vespers, Monteverdi - 'Beatus vir', Saint-Saens, a medley from Les Misérables...
