The first main concert of the 2007-8 Season and the first concert under the direction of our new conductor, Michael Rassinger from the RIS Swiss School was entitled Varietas Delectat, “Variety, Source of Delight,” and presented a wide variety of music for your listening pleasure.
- The Choir began the program with a set of Renaissance Madrigals. We were then proud to present our 2006-7 Scholarship Recipient, Chaiyanan Wan-in, who played a Mozart Horn Concerto accompanied by piano collaborator Tony Newman. Khun Chaiyanan is currently pursuing his Master of Music in Horn Performance at Mahidol University, College of Music.
- The next portion of the program showcased our conductor, Michael Rassinger, playing music for classical accordion. This was followed by a delightful set of “The Old Songs” for Barbershop Quartet. Tony Newman then played a set of Debussy Preludes and the Choir concluded the eveneing with Bach’s Motet, Lobet den Herrn.
The concert took place on Saturday, 6 October, at 8 PM in the Auditorium of the New International School of Thailand at the end of Sukhumvit Soi 15.
The BMS was proud to have support for this concert from Decor Mart Design Center, Bangkok Patana School, Shrewsbury International School and PTTEP.
